So a client asked me tonight about the HTML signature. Hehe.. its a bit of browser trickery really and it only works in Firefox.
- Download, install and only use Firefox, an alternative to Internet Explorer. www.firefox.com
- Go here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4866 and install. After installing the Firefox-only Better Gmail extension, you’ll discover a handful of configurable options - one of which is the "Allow HTML in Signature" option under Gmail > Settings. Once the option is selected, you now have free reign as far as HTML signatures are concerned.
- Copy and paste the HTML below into Notepad. Edit the name, phone number, and URL below to your needs. For the ===IMG=== text below, insert the full URL of an image online (preferably at your own blog or web site). You may need to get your web designer to assist you with a URL at this point. If you don’t care for an image, remove that line entirely.
- Paste the edited HTML signature in Gmail settings > Signature
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy while its hot!
<table style="font-size:11px;color:#555;border-collapse:collapse;">
<tr>
<td><img src="===IMG===" /></td>
<td>Your Name //</td>
<td>123-456-7890 (mobile) //</td>
<td><a href=http://www.yoururl.com>www.yoururl.com</a></td>
</tr>
</table>
