Google Alerts, Nearly real-time company monitoring, and Covestor
July 17th, 2008Investing, Personal, TechnologyI love Google, thats pretty clear by all the raving I do about them. Google has so many interesting services. One I like to use from time to time is Google Alerts which provides email alerts when a topic of your interest receives news or google indexing updates. Naturally its free.
Just moments ago I received an alert I setup for UVSE from an online blogger, YngvaiMalmsteve. He is a penny trader for the most part and posted about his recent experience with the stock.
He also mentioned he had a profile on Covestor.com which is an online portfolio tracking web site. I don’t have much to say about Covestor quite yet, but one thing I found interesting is that YngvaiMalmsteve is ranked 17th in Sharpe Ratio (an indicator of risk-adjusted return). Higher is better on the Rankings page.
Doing some more searching on what Covestor is all about, I thought it was cool that you can actually charge others to learn from your stock trading activity! What a great idea!
Look for a deeper dive on Covestor from me in the near future
